Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is hockey equipment covered if it is stolen from my vehicle?
A: Auto insurance generally covers the vehicle, not personal belongings inside it. Coverage may instead come from a home, condo or tenant policy, subject to the deductible and policy terms.

Q: Am I covered when driving players to games and tournaments?
A: Ordinary unpaid carpooling is generally different from carrying passengers for compensation. Make sure your broker knows how the vehicle is used and that your liability limit is adequate.

Q: Does provincial health coverage cover hockey trips outside Alberta?
A: It may not cover every expense, especially outside Canada. Travel medical insurance can still matter for tournaments and family trips.
